I had a terrible experience here. I’d made a reservation, but when I arrived at 10:30 p.m., the owner wouldn’t let me in and was incredibly rude. I rang the bell several times without an answer, then had to call several times before anyone picked up. I was late because of circumstances beyond my control. The owner was standing in the hall, but I was left alone outside in the cold and dark, speaking by phone to someone inside. There are very few places to stay nearby, so after a lot of deliberation I drove 30 minutes to Newry and stayed in a hotel. The next day I read reviews saying he had given other guests a hard time for arriving late. This doesn’t seem to be new behavior. The hospitality here wasn’t like what I’ve experienced at any other accommodation in Northern Ireland. I can’t recommend this place, even as a last resort. Please read the other reviews carefully so you know about other guests’ experiences and can get a full picture of the property.

The owners gave us a lovely welcome and went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable. Our room was spacious, with quirky furniture, and the rural setting was lovely while still being close enough to walk into Dromore. We had a great meal at the Halfway house and drinks at Mullhollands on the square. We’d recommend both.

I had a really enjoyable stay here with my family. The room had lovely views, the beds were comfortable, and it was the best shower I’ve had in accommodation. Breakfast had everything you could want and more. Definitely recommend, 10/10.
