The location worked really well for our NC500 night, and the room was clean with a comfortable bed, though it creaked a lot. The decor felt dated. Breakfast was limited to a couple of cereals and a croissant in a sandwich bag. I also found the milk in the floor cooler was a month past its date. It may have been frozen, but I didn't risk it. The smoke detector's flashing white light was really annoying when I was trying to sleep.
The room was just a minute's walk from a fantastic viewpoint, and we had a lovely one-night stay at Croft 338. Our host was warm and friendly, and gave us walking tips for the next day. Breakfast in the room hit the spot: neatly packed granola, yogurt, tasty orange juice, and a croissant with jam.
Croft 338 B&B was our favorite place to stay on our trip through Scotland. The owner clearly puts a lot of care into making the room comfortable, clean, and welcoming, and the setting is beautiful. We had a wonderful night there and would happily return and recommend it.
We found a cosy little double room to shelter in from the high winds on our second night, though we certainly chose a windy spot. Christine welcomed us warmly. The bed was super comfortable, the bathroom had everything we needed and a good-quality shower, and there was a generous selection of quality breakfast items to enjoy in the room.
It's a very remote spot, so I'd eat before arriving if you're planning on going out for dinner. The place felt clean enough to make me want to take my boots off at the door, and it was easy to find. Our host was friendly, the price was reasonable, and even in mid-February it was a warm refuge. It did feel quite cut off from the rest of the world. I especially enjoyed the view when I woke up. The simple breakfast was enough to get us moving on with our journey.
