The friendliest staff were the best part for us, especially the barman, Ferguson his name is, if not mistaken. The locally brewed pints were a bonus too, and the IPA was fantastic. Kids were welcome in the bar area until midnight, which made a difference. We travelled as a family of four and really enjoyed staying at Benleva Hotel. The room fit two adults and two kids with beds of their own, something that seems to be getting rare as family rooms give way to booking two rooms. It was clean and comfortable, with high ceilings, big windows, lovely views, comfy beds, and a clean, refurbished bathroom. Breakfast and the bar met expectations, no complaints there. It's close to Loch Ness and a good base for sightseeing nearby. One small thing, unless I missed it, there wasn't a spot to sit and do a bit of work, like a desk for a laptop. That wasn't a deal breaker, though. Thoroughly recommended.

The service was excellent and the food very good when we went for Sunday evening dinner. The bar was surprisingly busy, while the restaurant itself was quiet. The tables didn't have condiments and things set out, so we had to borrow some from the diners next to us. Still, it's a nice place to eat, and I'd return or recommend it.

I don't like leaving bad reviews, but I have to this time. When we arrived, it took nearly 30 minutes and several phone calls to get the lady at reception to accept that we'd paid for the room months earlier. That was frustrating. The hotel felt dark and quite run down. The attached pub was quite nice, though. Breakfast was... Mainly big... and served in what I'd best describe as a cellar. It wasn't impressive, and we kept wondering whether it was just old and charming or the kind of place Gordon Ramsay might show up at soon. Maybe we just had a bad day.

The rooms looked really well cared for when we had a look around, with modern features, and we’ve already booked to come back next August for the Highlands Games. We’re looking forward to seeing everyone again. We’d found the place through a recommendation from a nearby campsite for dinner, and were so glad we did. The restaurant felt warm and welcoming, and the staff were lovely. We also had a lovely chat with one of the part-time staff members.

We had a great evening meal, with a huge range of vegan options, and my husband was very happy with his Sunday roast. We also enjoyed chatting over a pint with some locals. The beds were really comfortable, the rooms a decent size, and the new bathrooms had excellent shower pressure. It’s in a beautiful spot and easy to reach, and everyone working there was lovely. Truly the best place we’ve stayed in Scotland. I’d recommend it to anyone.
