The kitchen had all the basics, including cutlery, crockery, oil, salt, pasta, tea, and coffee. It’s a beautiful house with modern furnishings, exactly like my dream home. The upstairs was still being decorated, but there was no work during our stay and it didn’t bother us. No shower gel was provided, only hand soap, though luckily we’d brought some. Maybe it was just forgotten. I’d highly recommend it. I’d keep the house for myself if I could!

The host was lovely, and the house itself is nice, with the finished, usable parts done well. The location is great for Loch Ness, the kitchen is well equipped, and parking right outside is handy. But we stayed three days and two nights in a place that’s clearly still a work in progress, with only part of the ground floor habitable. The bedroom faces other properties, so there’s no privacy unless you keep the blinds closed. The back garden also looks onto another apartment, so that isn’t private either. There’s no boiler connection or working heating system. A few space heaters were supplied, and the warm weather meant it wasn’t a problem for us, though I could see it being an issue. The living room is bare, with just two basic chairs for the TV in the open kitchen and no comfortable sofa. The Freeview TV is basic, and the broadband was painfully slow, under 3mb in both of my speed tests, making modern browsing almost useless. The host seems to have made an effort, but I don’t think the accommodation is suitable to live in right now. As a proper rental, I think it would fail landlord safety checks and standards because of the exposed wiring at the non-working boiler, lack of working heat, and unfinished upstairs rooms. I can see it being good one day, but at the moment it feels unfinished and rushed for the holiday season.

I spent two weeks here and really enjoyed coming back after work each day. It’s close to Loch Ness, with beautiful views all around. Definitely worth a stay, and I’d recommend it to anyone.

A cosy, lovely studio, just what we needed. There’s room for two and it has everything you need. It’s also close to the village, pubs, and restaurants.

The studio was lovely, with nice decor and a really comfy bed. It had everything you’d need. Would definitely recommend.
