Himley House by Chef & Brewer Collection

I dropped into The Himley House for a late Sunday lunch and it was a great choice. It was busy but not packed or too noisy. The Pork Lion was hot, tasty, plentiful and very moreish, after a starter of olives. Stacey looked after me, professional and polite, and nothing was too much trouble. Thanks, Stacey. There’s something for everyone on the specials menu, plus a good range of ales, beer and wine. I’d recommend it.

The prices are good and the portions are just right, neither too large nor too small. It’s got a really nice seating area and a lovely atmosphere as soon as you walk in. The staff are friendly and glad to help. I’d recommend it for any occasion.

The food was served quickly, though I ate late, so it might take longer at busy times. It’s a lovely pub with great food, plenty of drinks to choose from, and staff who are really friendly, helpful and polite. The big pub and restaurant is split into separate areas, so I’ve taken a star off for the atmosphere. Still, it’s ideal for a meal or drinks with friends or family.

The staff were friendly and helped us sort out a booking mix-up. My wife had booked the room for the following week, but we arrived a week early, and they dealt with it well. We had dinner too: the Garlic shrooms starter was tasty, and the gammon steak was delicious, juicy and nicely cooked. I was all over it like a fat kid on a cupcake. The room was immaculate, very clean and comfortable, with the usual kettle, tea, coffee and sugar, plus a good iron and ironing board. I slept like a log. After dinner I took a few photos with my drone. I’d highly recommend staying here.
