We tried this place for my daughter’s birthday, but the food made me ill. My prawns weren’t cooked, and my daughter’s meal was far too hot and seemed to have old meat in it because it was so over-spiced. People say that meat from an Indian restaurant could have been sitting around. That night I was vomiting and stuck on the toilet. I told the boss, and he blocked me. If I wasn’t a good enough customer, what happened to the idea that the customer is always right? The king prawn, seawater and prawn were like they’d been under the cooker. Avoid at all costs.

After six years of visiting Dundee from London, my wife and I have finally found a hotel and restaurant that ticks all the boxes. The room was clean and tidy, with brilliant facilities and real attention to detail. The food was gorgeous and there was loads of choice. The staff were exceptional, professional and courteous. Now that it’s under new management, we’ll definitely be back. The new place to be in Dundee. Well done, you guys, awesome!

The host welcomed me warmly when I arrived at reception. My room was quite nice, though it was cold. I asked if he could sort out the heating and he did it straight away. There was a nice view over the river, and I’d stay again.

The best B&B I’ve ever visited. The rooms are beautiful and comfortable, with a nice view. The staff were available whenever I needed them and were super nice and courteous. I’d recommend the Carlton to everyone.

The place was dirty, with blood on the walls, poor heating, no room service, and a curfew. I also saw proof that the owner had said he wouldn’t stay there himself. Says a lot. I wouldn’t recommend it at all.
