A huge range of choices at the self-service breakfast, and the rooms were comfortable with the basics covered. It’s a nice little guest house, close to Stansted. That’s handy, though you can hear planes late into the evening. They also offer inexpensive airport parking. I’ll stay here again when I fly from Stansted.

A really pleasant stay in the cute English-style cottages. The host was welcoming, breakfast was great, and they were flexible about checkout and letting us leave our luggage behind.

We found this place for our son on a month-by-month lease. It seemed okay at first, though a bit pricey, but we later found damp in the room. The lease also didn’t allow a kettle in the room for a morning cuppa, and the shared kitchen had only a hob and a small microwave, no oven. We had to end the lease halfway through the month after our son suffered a brain injury in a road traffic accident. The landlord kept the deposit because he hadn’t given a month’s notice. There was no compassion at all.

The Victorian conservatory where breakfast was served looked lovely, set up like a French café, and there was plenty of choice in the continental spread. The gardens were beautiful, and Angela and Pete made us feel at home. They welcomed us warmly, let Poppy roam outside, and introduced her to their little dog, Charlie. We stayed two nights at Bonningtons from 17th July 2014 with our dog. Our room was nicely done but snug, with limited space. The bed was comfortable and the newly fitted wet room was great. Stanstead Airport nearby meant some noise, though it didn’t spoil our stay. We’d definitely come back.
