We booked through Alfa travel coach holidays and loved our stay. The hotel is clean, the views and location are fabulous, and the staff are all lovely and helpful. It isn’t five-star luxury, but it’s reasonably up to date. There are two USB ports and plug sockets either side of the bed, and the room has tea and coffee facilities. You can top them up from the baskets at reception with tea, coffee and milk. Rooms can be cleaned daily, or put the DND sign on the door if you don’t want that. Food was perfectly palatable, with a good menu choice, though obviously not Michelin-starred. The town is a lovely 10-minute walk up the promenade. There’s also a very nice bookshop on the corner that serves coffee and cake. I’ll definitely be back.

The breakfast room has a cinematic view, and the food is good, with vegetarian breakfast options. The place is clean and warm, the beds are comfortable, and the staff are polite and friendly. There was live music too, and the price was amazing value. I’d definitely stay again.

I went on a great trip to Dunoon with my friend and Alfa. Our single rooms were lovely and immaculate, and housekeeping had done a great job keeping everything clean. The view was lovely, the trips were great, and there was a nice menu with hot food. Josh, our waiter, was a friendly young man, and Andy at the bar was jolly and welcoming. I had a minor accident while there, and the staff were attentive. They got me a taxi and remembered to check I was okay when I returned from casualty. Thank you. I’d recommend the trip.

The evening entertainment was amazing, and every member of staff gave first-class service. The meals were perfect, piping hot and generous, and the waiters never stopped working. Our bedroom was wonderful, with a really comfortable bed and a powerful, hot shower. Every detail of our beautiful short stay at Selborne Hotel was great, from the food and bar to the cleanliness and service. The location overlooks the Clyde. If you’re going to Dunoon, you must stay here. I’d definitely return, and you won’t be disappointed. Thank you to all the staff for a remarkable stay. WOW WOW WOW. 👍👍👍👍👍

The room had a nice view and lovely decor, and the staff were lovely too. The floors creak badly. My biggest issue was the food: it never arrived hot, the choice wasn’t very good, and the chips we had were so hard. I wouldn’t stay at this hotel again.
