Holiday Inn Express Dunstable by IHG

I stayed at the hotel while building work was being done at our house, and it was a restful, lovely stay. Georgia was really helpful with information about working from the hotel and made us feel welcome. The Wi-Fi was essential for my trip, and the connection was exceptional, never dropping out. The shower and wash facilities were all in good condition, and not having to worry about petrol was a plus. If you need somewhere to stay, you can have peace of mind here. 😀

The food was delicious and the portions were good. Service was fine, and everything looked clean. This is a no-frills place rather than a full-service hotel: there’s no fridge, only the bare-minimum amenities like toiletries, and every room is the same, so we couldn’t upgrade when we wanted a bigger one. If that kind of straightforward stay suits you, it’s a good choice.

The room was brilliant, comfortable, and smartly done. I liked the spotlights and sofa, and the clean bathroom had a huge walk-in shower big enough for two. Breakfast was good too, with cereal as well as the cooked option we chose. It’s a great hotel, and I’d definitely love to return.

I was visiting a young asylum seeker at the hotel, but a chap in a hi-viz jacket met me at the door and wouldn’t let me in. The protocol was that the person I was visiting had to come down and collect me from reception. I also had to sign in with my name, day, date, car registration number, and the times I arrived and left. I understand why security is needed, but the atmosphere felt unwelcoming, oppressive, and almost threatening. Sadly, women and children are living here, but this is a societal necessity.
