Ramside Hall Hotel, Golf and Spa

We ended up eating at the hotel both nights. On the first, we chose the bar, Charcoa, instead of booking a restaurant. The food was very nice and the portions were generous, though the prices were at the high end, as we expected at a quality hotel. We'd booked a restaurant in Durham for the second evening, but rain changed our plans and the hotel fitted us into the Fusion restaurant. Again, it was pricey, but the food was delicious and the servings were large. The spa was lovely, relaxing and well equipped, with a pool, steam room and sauna. Pool attendants took drink orders, and the couple of smoothies we tried were very nice. Our deluxe room was huge. It was a little cool when we arrived because the radiator was off and the window had been left open, and the wardrobe had seen better days. The hotel was clean, well maintained and nicely presented, and all the staff were friendly and helpful. It was decorated really nicely for Christmas. We had a lovely two-night break and will definitely stay again.

There was loads to do in lovely surroundings, and we had a great time together. The spa was relaxing, and the sports bar was a nice extra with very good food. Highly recommended.

After years of staying at the tree house and being a loyal customer, I won't be going back. They gave us a £50 voucher, but when we tried to use it, they refused to accept it. There was NO expiry date on it, and they still wouldn't honour their own voucher.

After our driving range round, we went to the rib room for a meal. We were paying a lot for the food, so good service really mattered, and Katie the waitress gave us exactly that. She checked that everything was okay, had a bit of craic with us and even brought me a little cheesecake for my birthday. I couldn't be more grateful, and she made the evening more fun.
