The location is beautiful and we had a lovely stay. The staff were very friendly and kind, and there’s real potential here, but a few things need tightening up. Milk left in the room had gone sour because there was no fridge. We got peckish in the afternoon and couldn’t find snacks, so we ended up ordering pudding. A minibar, or even a few biscuits or nuts, would help. There seemed to be lots of staff, yet service was slow at times. I wasn’t sure who was managing, though maybe it was just the timing of our visit. Big cardboard boxes in the bar spoiled the look a bit. They forgot our drinks order, and the bill was wrong at first. I was also surprised that smoking was allowed on the dining terrace in 2026. Some off-duty staff were smoking there, and every outdoor table had an ashtray, which feels unusual these days.

The garden was lovely, and it was nice to have a small play area for children, but there was a horrible sewage smell coming from the accommodation block. The place looks lovely inside and out, yet the food was mediocre, just dressed up to look fancy. With only one other table there, service was still extremely slow, and even with just two groups we were seated on a broken bench. The staff didn’t seem like they wanted to be there or serve us. For mediocre food made to seem like something it isn’t, it’s massively overpriced.

We stayed at the hotel and had Sunday lunch. The rooms were clean and newly outfitted, and lunch was flawless. Absolutely exceptional, and I’d recommend the hotel and restaurant to everyone. I’ll be back soon.

We booked two nights with dinner, bed and breakfast, and we both had spa treatments. Everything was fantastic, from the rooms and treatments to the food and service. One evening we had the pescatarian tasting menu, which was very good, and breakfast was faultless. The food was matched by attentive staff who clearly cared about giving guests a great experience, from the bar team to housekeeping. I honestly can’t recommend it highly enough. We’ll definitely be back. Thank you all!

The tomato tart to start and the rhubarb and custard dessert were real highlights. The menu also has classic choices alongside some less expected dishes, all well executed, and the drinks list is thoughtfully put together. It’s a little gem just outside Salisbury, a calm and beautiful place that feels welcoming as soon as you arrive. The rooms are simple and made for comfort and quiet. Staff are friendly without hovering, and it’s an easy escape from the bustle of everyday life.
