Five Star Stays

We stayed for just one night in a cottage. It was really nice and well looked after, and getting to and from Scarborough was easy. One tip for anyone planning a stay: Uber didn’t turn up for us, so we used Nippy taxi's instead. They seemed good value and were quick to get hold of.

The courtyard garden furniture was lovely to use in the nice weather, and we could sit outside. Inside, there was a cosy living room, a great kitchen and lovely big beds.

The location worked really well: there’s a bus stop right outside with routes to plenty of places, and a small supermarket just across the road. The cottages were spotless and cosy, with a well-stocked kitchen, beautiful bedrooms and very comfortable beds. Absolutely fantastic, I’ll definitely stay here again.

It was a handy base for beaches and nature reserves, and the property provided towels, robes, tea, coffee and milk. The place itself was lovely and homely, with everything we could need for a family of four with two young children. But after a three-hour drive, we couldn’t sleep until after 1am. We were in Piccadilly, next to a pub playing very loud music until 12:30am, followed by drunk people shouting outside. The kids were quite distressed and are now shattered after the three-hour drive home. The shower wasn’t great either: there was no hot water and hardly any pressure. It wasn’t cheap, and although we spoke to the staff about the problems the next day, nothing was done. Be mindful of weekend bookings if you have young children. It’s a real shame, as I’d hoped to come back in the future.
