Marine Parade Hotel

The sea view was the highlight for me. Waking up and looking straight out at the ocean was stunning, almost worth the trip on its own. The staff were super friendly, and the cozy, home-away-from-home feel left me feeling refreshed. I had such a great time at the Marine Parade Hotel and will definitely be back.

Mr. Ahmed at reception was helpful and cooperative, and the town centre is only a few steps away. Our room was clean and had a sea view. It wasn't large, but there was enough room to move freely. The toilet was completely new and clean, the TV had plenty of channels, and the bed and pillows were okay.

I was there looking for a friend, and the owner was very rude. When we said we hadn't decided whether to book there or elsewhere, he told us to leave because we might not book at all. There was no politeness or customer care. A woman staying there described the rooms as dirty, small, noisy and unacceptable, and said she was quoted an extortionate amount when she asked to change rooms. This cannot be classed as a hotel. The owner is a disgrace to his 'hotel' and a sham. I can see why it has two stars, though even that seems two too many. Don't go in, let alone consider staying there. You'd be wasting your time.

We left days before the trip was over because the place was dirty and cold, I got ill, and I hurt myself tripping over the tatty carpet on the stairs. The rooms and bedding were dirty, and the building was run down. Every night, yobs drank on the fire escape stairs while drunk people walked past our room arguing. Windows were boarded up all over, and we could hear scratching all night from what sounded like rats or mice in the room above. I can say 100% that I won't return.
