Cromwell House

We booked two rooms at the last minute, one twin and one with a large double bed, right at the top of the house. The twin had no hot water, ripped curtains, skid marks in the toilet and a very damp smell. The double room smelled strongly of damp too, even on the pillows and towels. The woman who greeted us was nice, which was the only plus. We had to leave in the early hours because of a medical emergency, so I can’t comment on breakfast.

Breakfast was well catered for, including the gluten and dairy free options my wife needs. My husband and I are staying in a small double on the ground floor, with a small en-suite shower room. The room is comfortable and has tea and coffee facilities. It’s been a pleasant stay, especially for the Eastbourne Airshow.

Kurt, the owner, was so friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. Our room was clean, tidy and lovely and comfy, and it was perfect for our one night stopover. The beach and town are seconds away. Don’t expect luxury, but if you want a clean, tidy room, this is just right.

We booked two rooms, one single and one for two people, and I had no real complaints. Mine was cozy, but it took me a while to work out the shower, because cold meant warm and warm meant cold. Breakfast was well looked after, and the host was very polite. The one thing to improve is the shower cleaning. My mum said hers was dirty, though mine wasn’t.
