Eddie made the stay especially nice. He’s charming to talk to and had some great tips about the area. My room looked out over the ocean, and getting there from the main station was easy, with a pleasant walk along the pier. Street-facing rooms may be noisy because the simple windows don’t block much sound, so bring earplugs. I had a wonderful stay and would come back if I get the chance.

Eddie was so approachable and genuinely kind, which made an already pleasant stay even better. The hotel is charming, with a fantastic sea view, and my room was cosy and clean, just right for travelling on my own. I’d happily stay here again.

Eddie was a superb host, and The Royal was well maintained. My room was small but superior, and the hotel felt like a resort for you and your canine best friend, not just somewhere that allows dogs. Breakfast was basic, but fresh and tasty, with freshly squeezed OJ. We had a great stay and will return. Thank you, Eddie, for a wonderful visit to Eastbourne. Michael & Mooska

The exterior looked rather tatty at first, but Eddie more than made up for it. He was genial, quietly spoken and keen to make our stay pleasant. Our room was on the small side, though there was somewhere to sit and admire the beach and the side view of the lovely pier. The continental breakfast was very good, with freshly squeezed orange juice, fresh fruit salad, yoghurt, cereals, a croissant and bread to toast.

My little dog and I had the most relaxing long weekend we’ve ever had. The room was cleaned to a very high standard, and breakfast had a great full continental choice. It’s only a short walk to shops and restaurants, and we had a lovely view from the room. Elliott, you run a beautiful, very dog-friendly hotel and treat guests like friends. I’ll definitely stay again, and hope to visit for longer next time. Marcelo
