We felt right at home at Leithen Lodge, thanks to the friendly owner, and it was a real treat to spend a few days there. The house was so spacious that all the children had their own bed. Our eldest loved having a tiny room of her own and thought she was a little princess. The setting is beautiful and really relaxing. With fine weather, we spent three days exploring Edinburgh, including the city, a little shop called Build-a-bear and Edinburgh Zoo, with its remarkable views of Scottish nature. A big thank you to you, Sir!

We only just got home, and already wish we were back. The scenery and lodge are stunning. Our flat felt spacious and homely, with lovely touches for the children, including a play room, DVDs, books and herbal teas. The hosts were lovely, and you can see they run the lodge with care for nature and reducing waste. There's plenty to do nearby, even with little ones. We'd highly recommend it.

The Stables was a charming, cosy and unusual place to stay, with everything we needed to get away from it all. We spent a magical four days at Leithen Lodge with friends, in beautiful surroundings with friendly hosts who clearly love their home. Our spa session with Emma was fantastic, and I could feel the stress floating away. Definitely recommend it, and we'll be back.

I filmed a piano video in the ballroom last week. Julie and Ted were incredibly warm and kind hosts, and the venue is exceptional. I'd highly recommend it!

There's a chance this could become an outstanding place to stay, but my first impressions were very negative. Everywhere seemed to come with a warning: private road, no vehicles unless visiting houses; don't walk around the house perimeter; don't put things down the toilet; don't wear outdoor shoes inside. There wasn't much of a positive welcome.
