They even brought our bags up to our room after we left them at reception before check-in. Breakfast included toast, cereal, and fruit, which was a nice extra. The room was nice, the staff helpful, and the surrounding area felt safe and lovely. One of the best places we’ve stayed in Edinburgh. Definitely worth a try.

The house is beautiful and well cared for, with a lot of thought in the details. We were there for two nights over Easter weekend and found it really comfortable. Eric was a great host, arranging an early check-in and sharing thoughtful local recommendations. It’s a little outside the city centre, but there’s a bus stop nearby, so getting around is easy. A lovely stay and a good option for a visit to Edinburgh.

I meant to review this guesthouse last autumn. The owners are so kind and always make sure you’re looked after. The house is dreamy, especially the huge staircase window and the cosy nook where you can sit with a book on a gloomy morning. Transport links are convenient too.

I was travelling alone and felt very safe at 4 Friends House. Lukas and Silvia were welcoming and so helpful, and they replied quickly with useful information whenever I texted. My room and the bathroom were beautiful and very clean. It’s a calm place in a quiet part of town, with nearby buses into the city centre. They brought me a fresh bottle of water each day, which I really appreciated. There’s also a lovely greengrocer beside them. Thanks for making my solo trip such a good experience, and all the best!

The house was warm and immaculate, but to me it felt like a fancier hostel rather than a guest house. Water pressure and temperature were terrible, and the TV and remote were broken. The room swung between too warm and too cold. It’s beside an extremely busy road, something they didn’t mention when showing us to the room, though there were ear plugs by the bed. I wouldn’t stay again.
