The owner was so kind, and the full hot breakfast each day was far more than I could eat. My room was upgraded to a double, which was really spacious, and the clean, quiet rooms and cute dogs made the stay good value for the price. It's about a 20-minute uphill walk to the city centre, but I walked everywhere and found the location convenient. The house has lots of steps, so it isn't very accessible, though that was fine for me. Wi-Fi doesn't reach every top-floor room, so I'd ask for a second-floor room if you need it. I'd definitely stay again.

The host gave us a very warm welcome, which helped us relax and enjoy our stay. It's a beautiful Edinburgh house turned into a stylish guesthouse, with great service, atmosphere, and cleanliness. Shops, cafes, and restaurants are all within walking distance, as is the city centre. Worth checking out.

For £40, I thought this was very good value. The people were friendly, and breakfast in the pleasant dining room included a good buffet and cooked options from the menu, including a fried vegetarian breakfast. My single room was small but clean and adequate, with an ensuite shower and toilet. I was on the first floor and someone carried my bag up for me. Getting to the main shopping area is quite a walk, and the uphill stretch towards the station was hard going with my case. I'm 72, so that was a bit of a challenge.
