The bed was so comfortable, and the room had a lovely hotel feel. It's a little out of the way from the city centre, but the host was amazing even with our very late arrival because of the trains. On our last day, we were surprised with prosecco, pastries and a vase of roses. Such a sweet touch 😍 I’d definitely stay again. My one regret is missing the doggo, next time I’m meeting them.

Ardmor House has become my pick for Edinburgh. I’ve stayed several times at different points in the year, and Robin has always been friendly and efficient. The house and neighbourhood are lovely, close to Pilrig Park and with easy access to the sights. Quiet, charming rooms and a delicious breakfast make for a really nice stay, with attentive service that adds to a trip to the city.

I booked through Airbnb and found it good value. The room is on the small side, but it’s well equipped, with a modern bathroom and a comfortable bed. The host’s tips came in handy. From the house, it’s about a 15-minute walk to the city centre, or a shorter trip by bus. I spent a full day exploring Edinburgh on foot and saw many of the highlights.
