Blackfriars Lofts

The apartment was nice and well located, though the steep stairs up to the loft could be difficult for anyone with mobility issues. Our main frustration was the luggage storage. I was told we could use it when we arrived early, but it was a messy space under the stairs with other things stored there. Its door wouldn't lock because a hinge was broken. A cleaner who happened to come by called the building operator for us. They assured me the lock would be fixed right away after I explained I wasn't comfortable leaving our bags unattended in an unlocked area. It still wasn't fixed when we returned that afternoon, or when we stored our luggage again two days later before leaving.

Good location and clean, but from our first-floor room we could hear every single step upstairs.

The flat was lovely, and the bed was really comfortable. The kitchen had plenty of cookware if you want to make meals instead of eating out. A few things let it down: the sofa had some spots on it and was extremely uncomfortable, sound carried through the walls so we constantly heard the people upstairs, and the shower floor was very slippery. Be careful, I badly stubbed my toe on the drain. Still, it's a great property.

Just off the Royal Mile, this apartment was modern, clean and very spacious. Having a washer-dryer was great. The only issue was the loft bed: it sits low, and getting to it means managing a big step, which was awkward when going to the bathroom at night.
