Having parking at the hotel made our visit much easier, especially since parking around this part of Edinburgh can be difficult. We could walk to the city centre in about 15 minutes or reach Edinburgh Castle in roughly 20, so we didn't need transport to explore. The room was exceptionally clean and well maintained, and the modern bathroom was spotless. Staff were friendly and professional, and breakfast had a very good selection. There were a couple of interruptions to sleep. Roadworks began right outside just before 8:00 a.m. on Saturday. Early on Sunday, a housekeeping cabinet opposite my room was opened, making more noise. The staff member was polite and apologised, which I appreciated, though I was already awake by then. Even with those minor issues, I had a very enjoyable stay and would happily recommend the hotel. The clean rooms, breakfast, location and parking were all strong points.

The neighborhood was great, with lots of restaurants nearby, and we found the room clean and comfortable, with a homely feel. Check-in and check-out were both easy. We stayed for three nights, May 7 to May 10, and had a wonderful time overall. The toilet flush could work better. At breakfast on Friday, May 8, we tried veg haggis for the first time and thought it smelled rotten. The manager was very polite when we mentioned it and offered to replace it, explaining that it was meant to smell that way. We tried it again the next morning, Saturday, and it tasted completely different without that smell, so that second serving was much better. A couple of small issues aside, we enjoyed the stay and appreciated the hospitality. I'd happily recommend it for the location, cleanliness and welcoming atmosphere.

The Bruntsfield area is lovely to wander around for trinkets, baked goods and good restaurants, and the main city centre is only a short walk or bus ride away. I've stayed here twice in the last two years. Both times the rooms were spacious and lovely, with good TVs and nice showers. Staff helped with a small issue and were happy to store our luggage when asked. Prices can get quite high in peak season, though with a good discount it feels worth it.

Breakfast was one of the best I've had, with what might be the finest black pudding I've ever eaten. The location is lovely, and it was fantastic that EV charging was included in the parking fee. I was fortunate to get an upgraded room, but it was very hot and stuffy and hard to sleep in, even with the portable fan they provided. That's why I took a star off the Rooms score, though my overall rating is still five.

They looked after us extremely well, and as we were both disabled, it meant a lot that nothing seemed too much trouble. The hotel was lovely and comfortable, with a large, well-equipped room and bed. The cooked breakfast selection was first class, with perfect poached eggs, and the continental options looked fresh and tempting. The bottled water was expensive at £4. We'll be back.
