Simon and his team were wonderful hosts. Their enthusiasm really shows, and we'd stay at Lauderville Guest House again in a heartbeat. It's roughly a mile's walk to the Royal Mile, or there's a bus stop just up the road if you'd rather not walk. The room was spotless, with a great view from the window and a very comfortable four-poster bed. Breakfast was delicious. My wife still talks about the smoked salmon and scrambled eggs, and Simon is a great cook. We stayed three nights after arriving in Edinburgh.

We had lost our previous B&B and this place took us in at the last minute. Simon and his parents are lovely, and the house is immaculate. The room was spotless, the bed comfortable and the food amazing. You really should try the breakfast salmon! It's not too far from the city centre, and the buses are frequent and easy to catch. The Old Bell Inn is only a five-minute walk away for supper, which makes it just perfect.

Simon was so helpful and accommodating, and the breakfast had several great options. The location worked well for exploring Edinburgh, just a short Uber ride from the Royal Mile. My room was clean, with a decent-sized bathroom and a good selection of linens. The only drawback is getting to the third floor, or second floor as they call it. The stairs are very narrow and would be hard for anyone with limited mobility. Otherwise, it's an amazing place to stay, and I'd definitely recommend it.

Simon made sure breakfast was lovely each morning, with a choice of tasty, healthy options. There are also continental items for anyone heading out early or arriving after the breakfast service. We booked quite late, but Simon managed to fit us in despite being otherwise full. The rooms have been beautifully renovated and are comfortable. It's about a 30-minute walk south from central Edinburgh, just off a main road. Nearby you'll find local pubs, grocery and convenience shops, a transit line that's easy to reach, and a lovely view. Before we arrived, Simon emailed clear directions and explained what to do if he wasn't there at check-in. My spouse and I loved our time here and couldn't recommend this guest house more.

For the first stop on our trip around Scotland, we couldn't have picked better. Simon was a wonderful host, and the breakfast was top notch. The Lauderville Guest House is easy to reach from the bus stations for trips into town. Highly recommend staying here.
