The grounds are gorgeous, and the staff made our visit feel special from beginning to end. We came from the States for our first trip to Scotland, and before we arrived they emailed to help arrange transport to a few things we had tickets for outside Edinburgh. They also upgraded us for free because it was our honeymoon. At the main house, they showed us around and helped with our plans. When we came back each evening, they remembered where we’d been that day and asked about it. Breakfast at the restaurant exceeded our expectations both times. The bartenders were quick and gave us great recommendations for their custom drinks. If we return to Scotland, we’ll stay here again.

My partner and I had a magical first trip to Scotland from Jersey, and we’d love to return. The grounds and leisure area were amazing, and the staff were wonderful. Dorina took care of us at the petland restaurant for afternoon tea. She was lovely and attentive, took photos of us, and later we had a nice chat in the cocktail bar. She’s a real asset. Louise at the vien spa also fitted me in at the last minute for a 60-minute Swedish massage. She did a wonderful job, and I was completely relaxed afterward. I met my partner at the pool, then we enjoyed the sauna, steam room, and some time to chill out. I’ll recommend the place to all my friends. I’m old school, so I plan to mail in a longer review too.

The cocktails were some of the best I’ve had: beautifully presented and perfectly balanced, with real care behind the bar. Nicola looked after us, and her welcome felt warm, sincere, and professional from the moment we arrived. She made the atmosphere friendly and comfortable without any fuss, and I felt valued as a guest. This was my first visit to the Dalmahoy Hotel, and the bar experience was so good I had to write about it. Nicola is a real asset to the team. I’ll be back.

We had a delicious dinner with a nice menu, and the food was well presented despite the busy restaurant. Reception, the dinner reservation, and the cocktail bar all came with great service. Our room was spacious and clean, and the beds were very comfortable. The pool, sauna, and steam room were clean, well maintained, and excellent. The one problem was getting in and out from the main road. The hotel driveway is narrow and visibility is limited when exiting. A bus parked opposite made it harder to see, and an aggressive, abusive taxi driver cut the corner as we were leaving. Even so, with all the good points, it’s great value and we’ll definitely return. A great advert for Scotland.

Three nights of proper relaxation. We loved the pool, the walks, and the hotel, and the staff were amazing. The Brasserie team were especially friendly and efficient, and the food was excellent. We can’t wait to come back. A big thank you!
