The pub attached to the hotel was dire, with disgusting toilets, so we chose not to eat there. That was fine, as there are several good places to eat within easy walking distance. We stayed three nights. The staff were friendly when we arrived, and the room they gave us was lovely, with a sea view. We only asked for fresh towels and room service on the final night, but it wasn't done. When we got back, apparently all the cleaners had left.

We stayed four nights recently and had an excellent experience. The hotel is in a very good location, and the staff were consistently kind and helpful. When we asked for another room heater, they brought one and offered to provide more if needed. Our family room was spacious, with two single beds and one double. The bedding was spotless and the bathroom shiny. Onsite parking managed by horizon was a bit pricey for us, but we knew it was paid parking beforehand, so that was okay. We'd definitely recommend the hotel and come back.

The hotel sits just off bus #1, which goes into the city centre, and it's only a few minutes from the last tram stop in Newhaven. Being outside the centre meant a quieter location, with sea access and a 24 hour supermarket just five minutes away. Ocean terminal is nearby, where you can see the Royal Britania and visit the free memorabilia museum inside the terminal. There's also a kiosk for quick check-in and getting a key if you're out late. It's a really good choice if you want to head into the city centre but save some money to enjoy what Edinburgh has to offer.

The water view costs a little extra, but for me it was worth every penny. It's a short walk to the tram stop and bus routes into Edinburgh, and right next door to Newhaven Market, where you can get an incredible Haggis and Chips meal. It's a really nice hotel with friendly, helpful staff. I've stayed a couple of times and will be back.

We didn't use the pub next door, since there are plenty of places to eat a short walk or tram ride away. Getting around is easy too, with the tram going through the city centre straight to the airport. The hotel has a great coastline view, and the room was clean and functional. This was our first visit to Edinburgh. We stay at Premier Inns regularly, and this is one of the best. We got a warm welcome, and the staff were helpful with everything.
