We sat for an hour one morning, having breakfast and coffee and chatting. The food was fresh, tasty and varied, and even had a pancake making machine, which I'd never seen in a hotel before. I was sorry to leave, since making breakfast at home won't be as nice! We stayed for my husband's 50th birthday with friends, and I honestly can't complain about anything. The location was perfect, and the staff were amazing and very accommodating. We got warm cookies on arrival, which was an unexpected treat. Our room was 320, spacious and clean, with a beautiful view of the castle. The hotel also left chocolates and a card for the birthday boy, which made it feel personal. After travelling and unpacking, we had a quick drink at the very nice bar before heading out for tea. The bed was so comfortable, which is normally hard to find. I wish I'd taken pictures of the room, but the views speak for themselves. Thank you, Double Tree, you made the weekend special, and it's one we'll always remember. I'd honestly come back again.

We had a fantastic stay for 2N. It's one of those rare hotels where a family of 4 can all fit in one room, and the location is fantastic too. Every staff member gave impeccable service, especially Olu and Soraya at the front desk. Their warm welcome was a perfect start to Edinburgh. Would highly recommend this place!

The thing that stood out most was the staff. Everyone we met was so professional, smiling and kind. Adrian at the Front Desk gave us a really warm, friendly welcome. Gurav, James and Issy, if I saw her name correctly, sorry if I misspelled it, were so helpful and lovely to talk to at dinner in the restaurant. I had a lovely Suite with a Castle view and really enjoyed it. The location is very convenient, walking distance to all the main landmarks Edinburgh has to offer, and there are many. We had an unforgettable stay last week, and I'd highly recommend this amazing hotel to anyone visiting the magical city of Edinburgh! Respectfully, Milen V.

We had a wonderful stay, with incredible views of the castle from our rooms. The beds were comfy, the pillows were great, and the rooms were clean, comfortable and very modern. The TVs were new and nice too. It's easy to walk to all the downtown sites, with a grocery store a block away and plenty of nearby restaurants. Breakfast costs extra, but was nicely done and had all the regular items you'd expect. The new hot drinks machine was great. They were also very accommodating when we needed rooms next to each other. There's a water filling station in the lobby, or you can ask the kitchen.

Great location for the activities and sights we had planned in Edinburgh. We loved the king size bed and the castle view, especially watching the castle change colour after sunset. The bar and restaurant food was good, though the menu was very limited. There was a faint smell of urine in our bathroom for some reason, and it wasn't us. The handle helped with getting in and out of the shower, but its position made it awkward to shower with the showerhead where it was.
