The apartment could sleep six adults and an infant, but we wouldn't recommend it or stay again. Its location is the only thing going for it. There's no parking or advice on where to leave the car, and collecting the keys was a whole faff. Inside, it looked grubby and badly in need of an update. Wallpaper was peeling, the bathroom was very aged, and the kitchen looked unfinished, with missing kick plates and a cooker that didn't work. The fridge freezer was in the living room. The heating system was noisy, so we had to switch it off. There were multiple black hairs on the coffee table, bed sheets and bath, none of which could have been from any of the guests. And apparently the apartment came with a pet rat or mouse, or maybe a cockroach!

We had booked and paid ahead for five people, including a minor, to stay in the apartment on Great Junction Street from August 22nd to 24th. When we arrived in Edinburgh after midnight, the owner had sent the wrong key collection password. Despite repeated calls through the night, there was no reply until 7:00 the next morning. We ended up outside in the freezing cold, then had to spend all of August 23, 2019 sleeping instead of starting the city tour we'd planned. The owner never came by or contacted us to apologize for the serious disruption. I've travelled halfway around the world and never left a negative review before, but this was too serious to ignore. I won't get into the mediocre state of the apartment, or the fact it was on the ground floor where anyone could have broken the window. What a ruined holiday! And the compensation was only £24 each.
