You can't get to the base, but this is as far as you can go along the public road. Definitely worth a look.

It was a lovely walk on a sunny day, with amazing views across Edinburgh. I was there for Geocaching, a hobby that keeps leading me to new and interesting places. Look it up and give it a try.

A wonderfully atmospheric place to stay, though it was a bit chilly in January. The underfloor heating should have been turned on a full 24 hours before we arrived. Still, highly recommended for the feeling of stepping a few hundred years back in time.
