Miss 2.
We came for my birthday meal at The Witchery, and a five-minute walk from the station made this a handy base. The building is beautiful, and we were surprised with an upgrade to a suite, plus little cakes on arrival. Our room was spacious, clean and well appointed. Even with busy streets outside, we didn’t hear a thing. The bed was so comfortable we’ve been trying to find out who made it, and it’s become our benchmark. I’ve stayed in plenty of high-end and boutique hotels, and this ranks up there, especially at the members’ rates. The little touches, like umbrellas ready for the often bad weather, made the visit a delight. A wonderful stay in a dreary January. We’ll be back!

Staff were helpful and easy to deal with throughout our stay. The rooms are clean and comfortable, though a bit small, which isn’t unusual for this part of town. The bathroom was surprisingly spacious and nicely done. There’s some street noise, so keep that in mind. At Hotel du Vin, we found it good value for the location, with most Old Town sights easy to reach on foot. We didn’t try the restaurant, so can’t comment on it. A comfortable base for business or a casual stay if you’ll be out exploring. I’d stay again.

Gavin and Ben got things back on track after a rocky start with the former Events colleagues, who have since left the business. Everything was carefully sorted for our intimate wedding reception, so we could just arrive and enjoy it. Hotel du Vin, Edinburgh is a beautiful characterful building that holds lots of special memories for us. The skilled bar staff made the night with their martinis and cocktails!

The bistro dinner had a classic French feel, with well-seasoned food, lovely room ambience and attentive service from Carrie-Anne. Breakfast also had a very good selection. At the bar, Kaya made delicious cocktails and an excellent strawberry mocktail for our ten-year-old son. We stayed in a spotless, comfortable junior suite with an en suite bathroom, and housekeeping did a great job. Jennifer made check-in smooth and welcoming, and there was a sweet personalized note waiting for us. A truly exceptional family stay at Hotel du Vin, thank you for everything!

The staff were warm and attentive, and the atmosphere made the evening feel special. We had delicious food, whisky paired just right, and a lively haggis address that set the tone. I attended Burns Night at Hotel du Vin Edinburgh, and it was fantastic. A memorable celebration, I’d happily come back next year.
