Hub By Premier Inn Edinburgh Haymarket

As a solo traveller, I felt safe and welcome here. The room doors lock, and you need a key card to use the lift. The staff were really friendly and ready to help. The room was quiet, clean, and modern, with fresh bedding. The shower was clean, with no mold, and the water pressure was just right. Continental breakfast is the only option, but there's a good variety. They also store bags before check-in and after checkout, which is very helpful. It had everything I'd expect from a hub.

It's easy to walk everywhere from this location, and breakfast was adequate. I always appreciate fresh fruit. Some staff didn't seem to enjoy their work and weren't welcoming every time. The room cleaning was poor too: the carpet felt dusty and there were stains on the wall.

They don't clean the room unless you go down to reception and specifically ask. For what we paid, not even making the bed is too much. We did ask for the room to be made up on the second night, but they still didn't tuck the sheet in. When I got back, I had to make the bed properly myself, or sleep on top of the bare mattress.

The location was decent, and the rooms are very small, which is fine if you're not planning to spend much time in them. Cleanliness was the bigger problem for me. The sheets had a faint smoke smell even though the property is non-smoking, there was hair in the sink drain, and the bathroom corners had lots of dust and grime. The carpets were covered in stains.
