The owners were very friendly, and I’d stay again. For £70, our twin room was clean and comfortable. Room 5 is in the attic at the back, with a great view of Arthur's Seat, though the Wi-Fi was too weak to use. The water pressure was low too, but it was hot enough for a relaxing shower. Sunday breakfast is from 8-9am, continental style, with good quality ingredients and no processed cheese or orange cordial. Parking on the nearby side street was a bit tight, but it’s an easy walk into town.

The staff were kind, and the rooms were clean. They were fairly small, and breakfast was very simple, but I loved my stay at this quaint lodge just outside Edinburgh.

The hosts are a really nice couple, and the room was clean. The continental breakfast was very good. It’s in a residential area, about a 20-minute walk from the city centre, with a bus stop right opposite the house.

At £70 a night, I was already unhappy with what I got, and breakfast made it worse: the coffee was the worst I’ve had in a hotel, cheap instant stuff that I couldn’t drink. My room was up a couple of precarious staircases, and nobody offered to help with my suitcase. I walk with a stick, so I had to unpack it and carry my things up the second tiny staircase bit by bit. I could have done with some help.

The hosts were warm and helpful, and breakfast was a very good continental spread. The guest house is in a pleasant residential area, around a 20-minute walk from the city centre, with the bus station directly across the road.
