At least the sheets and bathroom were clean when I checked closely, and when the Bluetooth lockbox had no keys, the host quickly found a solution. But our stay was far from the cozy B&B feel the pictures suggested. The place was dingy, the house needs extensive renovation, the carpets were stained, and there was a strange smell throughout. There was no onsite staff. Around 3am another guest entered our room. It was scary and unnerving, a real shock in the middle of the night. Either the room had been double booked or the keys opened several rooms, and either way that's poor service. Thankfully, we only needed somewhere to sleep for one night. I don't like leaving negative reviews, but I can't recommend the place after such an uncomfortable stay.

The room itself was clean and warm, with plenty of hot water. The entrance and lobby look tired, but that doesn't reflect the state of the room. There aren't many places to eat nearby. Haymarket has plenty, but it's a 10-minute walk. If you're after takeaway, Deliveroo makes that less of an issue.

The shower had good pressure, but the water was warm at best. I don't know if it depended on what time you showered. Sometimes it would get hot, but only for a few minutes.

We asked for the room to be cleaned one day, but it never happened. The whole building feels as though it only gets a very basic clean, and the window seals were dirty. It all needs renovating. For the price, I wouldn't stay again.
