The beach is lovely, and the bus makes it easy to get into the city from this good location. We stayed for four days, and Sanna n Zahar were such warm, friendly hosts who were very helpful. Highly recommended.
Edinburgh Festival meant the price was high, but the standard didn’t match it. The room felt tired, and it had single glazing. Breakfast wasn’t included, which was disappointing for a B&B. Nothing was awful, but for the cost, it made for a poor visit.
We paid £87 a night without breakfast, and I just wanted to cry. The room was cramped, the bedding smelled damp, and the bed hadn’t been made. The decoration and curtains were creased. We’d been led to expect a seafront room, but ours was on the top floor, with a view of old buildings across the way. The place needs updating. We arrived in the rain and waited ten minutes with the door open, ringing, but nobody answered. The shared bathroom had a brown mark where the toilet brush was. If I’d had the money, I’d have changed hotels.
It was very clean and the hospitality was good. I’d never used a shared bathroom before, but this one was spotless. The only drawback was that there’s no lift.
