Premier Inn Edinburgh East

I wasn't expecting much, but the hotel turned out to be great. The rooms are amazing and the staff are lovely. It's a bit away from Edinburgh's hustle and bustle. A city trip costs £10 by Uber, and the beach is the same, so it's not really a deal breaker.

Check-in and check-out were quick and easy, and the hotel was very clean. The staff were helpful, but there was a miscommunication and we didn't get room service. For the price, the facilities are excellent. The Wi-Fi wouldn't work in the rooms because of technical issues, which was a major inconvenience. It was difficult to stay without internet.

Dirty, worn room, with no shelves or drawers for clothes. The bathroom extractor barely worked, probably contributing to the dirt and mould in there. We also got just one towel for a double room and one tea bag, and there was no Wi-Fi in the room. The only real plus was the location: bus stops right outside, with a 15 minute ride into Edinburgh. The Beefeater restaurant was awful. Breakfast arrived cold and the staff seemed extremely stressed. There were no evening meals on Friday, with no explanation, and at the weekend they only served starters. The stay was a real disappointment, and we won't come back.

The bathroom was a nightmare, with black mould everywhere. It was so unpleasant to wash in, and the water wouldn't get warm unless you let it run for at least ten minutes. The room heating was poor too. Even with the thermostat, I kept turning it all the way up because the room never warmed enough. The room itself was decent and had a nice night view. Check-in was quick and smooth once I found reception, which was a bit difficult to locate. For a weekend, it wasn't worth the money, and I wouldn't recommend it.
