We loved waking up to Edinburgh Castle from our clean, roomy and quiet room. The bed was especially comfortable after long days out, and everything felt well looked after. Reception were welcoming and happy to help, while the breakfast buffet had plenty to choose from. We went for the Full English each morning and really enjoyed it. We came from Toronto, Canada for five nights, and the hotel made getting around easy. The Royal Mile, Grassmarket, Edinburgh Castle, Calton Hill, shops and lots of restaurants were all within walking distance. My wife and I were very glad we picked the Premier Inn Edinburgh City Centre (Princes Street), and we'd happily recommend it.

The main street is busy, but it's handy for picking up snacks, bakery items or quick food. Go up to the street behind and the feel changes completely, with more restaurants, bars and lovely shops. We had a happy stay apart from some mixed experiences with the staff. Some were friendly, others weren't, and there’s room to improve how helpful and professional the service feels. We also took a private walking tour for a few hours, which is a great way to hear about the city's history.

Our castle view room was very good, and the temperature stayed comfortable even though the air conditioning wouldn't go below 19 and the windows didn't open. The room cleaning worked fine, but you have to request it at reception, which isn't always convenient. For the price, it compares well with other places around the city. Lots of sights are within walking distance, and public transport is close by too.

The staff were great, and the room was comfortable and modernised. I had a Premier Plus room with a fridge and pod coffee machine, plus a lovely view of the castle. You can't get much more central than Princess Street. Rose Street is right behind the hotel, with good places for breakfast or dinner, so there's no need to buy food from the hotel. I'd recommend staying here.

The location is really good and the staff were very friendly. Breakfast and evening drinks meant going next door to bar and block. Not a huge problem, but having them on site would have been better. I also would've liked to open the room window instead of relying on the air con. Still, it was a good stay.
