David is very friendly and knowledgeable, and has loads of information about Edinburgh if you want it. Breakfast was a decent cooked one, and Figgy is a friendly dog. Just know the cat and dog roam freely, so pet hair is nearly everywhere. It’s an 18th century Georgian house, so don’t expect top amenities. The radiators aren’t very strong, though the thick duvet helps. The shower pressure is poor and disappointing.

Figgy the wee spaniel was just too cute. David was fabulous and attentive, and we loved this stay, much better than a generic hotel. The beautiful house has loads of history and interesting things to look at. We stayed on a Saturday night and would definitely recommend it.

The old house is beautiful, and the man who runs it is lovely. Breakfast was good and it felt worth the price, though the water pressure and cleanliness could have been better.

Figgy, the beautiful spaniel, deserves a mention too, he loves getting lots of fuss! The building is lovely and old, and makes a nice base for work or exploring. The host was very nice and always helpful, communication was good, the breakfast was lovely and the beds were comfy. Rooms are cleaned every day as well. I’d stay again next time I’m in Edinburgh.

The full breakfast was substantial, and David seemed to know everything about what to see. He suggested taking the bus into the city instead of driving, and he was right. One ticket covered us all day for £4.50, and the buses were regular and clean. We drove up the driveway to a grand, quirky but homely house furnished to suit its Georgian era. David, the owner, gave us a warm welcome. We had the master bedroom, with a bed big enough for 3 or 4 people to sleep comfortably, and a lovely en-suite with a large bath. The owners had supplied all the toiletries we needed.
