The rooms were spotless and the bed was really comfortable, and breakfast had a nice buffet spread. Staff were friendly and helpful, and communication was great from the start. There’s some parking on site, plus plenty of unrestricted street parking nearby. Buses stop right outside for town, which couldn’t be easier. Great value compared with other hotels, and we’ll be back. Thanks!

We had a great first visit to Edinburgh, with the guest house staff looking after us so well. The rooms were clean and very spacious, and there’s good off-road parking. Breakfast had lots of options, and the property itself was lovely. It’s near the city centre, with regular buses into town. We’d definitely stay here again. Thank you.

The bus into the city stops right outside, which was especially handy since driving there would mean paying the LEZ charge. The rooms were spacious and clean, with a slightly dated look that added to the charm. Jane welcomed us warmly and was very pleasant, and the other waitresses were hospitable at breakfast. There was plenty to choose from: a hot breakfast, cereal, fruit, breads and lots of condiments. A really lovely, authentic Scottish guest house and a great stay.

Breakfast was tasty and a lovely way to start the day, and the staff were exceptionally friendly and attentive. We felt right at home in the warm, welcoming atmosphere, which had a lovely family style Christmas spirit. We had a truly wonderful stay at the Ben Doran Guesthouse and would happily return. Highly recommended!

The room had a perfect view, and the location was convenient, around a 15-20 minute walk from the city centre. Staff were super friendly and agreed to prepare breakfast for us when we had to leave early, since it was included in our booking. The place is nice, cosy and atmospheric overall, though the rooms are pretty old, especially the bathroom, which made some strange sounds. Parking is limited, so keep that in mind if you’re arriving by car.
