The Register Club became our nightly ritual. Its staff were so genuinely lovely that we came back every evening, and Lady Libertine, just off the lobby, was a perfect place for a drink when we arrived. Both have classic Edinburgh charm with modern comfort. Our family found the room stylish and practical, a real home base. The gym felt brand new, as if it had only been completed the week before, and was spotless, well equipped, and surprisingly inviting for a vacation workout. From check-in, The Edinburgh Grand showed why it stands apart. The service was exceptional throughout, and the team treated us like longtime regulars even though it was our first visit. Jo at the front desk deserves special mention. She’s one of the finest hotel professionals we’ve met, and as Titanium Bonvoy members, we’ve met quite a few. Her kindness and interest in all her guests set the tone for our stay. The hotel earns every bit of its five stars, and the rating system feels a little inadequate. We can’t wait to return.

The Edinburgh Grand is conveniently placed across from St. Andrew Square, right on the tram line, and very close to the Edinburgh Waverly train station. Many places are easy to reach on foot, too. We had a true pleasure staying there while exploring this beautiful city. The room was spacious and comfortable, with lots of thoughtful touches. Service was exceptional, from the friendly check-in staff to Joseph, the wonderful concierge and doorman. He gave us many lovely suggestions for sights and restaurants. We loved Edinburgh and are grateful for our stay.

The Director’s Suite was outstanding for our wedding, elegant and intimate, just right for such a special moment. Victoria helped and supported us throughout the whole journey, and we’re truly grateful for the care and attention she gave every detail. From booking until checkout, everything was perfection. Every staff member we met was lovely, welcoming, and genuinely invested in making our day unforgettable. The food was exceptional, the service flawless, and the whole experience felt thoughtful, personal, and luxurious. We couldn’t have picked a better place for our wedding.

The Register Club, where we had breakfast, had attentive and accommodating service. The Egg Florentine was extremely good. My sister said her chicken breast was delicious, while my wild mushrooms risotto was average. I’d asked for a French press for my traditional coffee but didn’t get one, though the cleaner did bring the milk I requested. The hotel’s music player was a lovely touch. Not every hotel thinks to put one in a guest room, and as a music lover, I appreciated it very much. The loft king suite was spacious for my sister and me. The bathroom was solidly built, with quality decor and amenities, and the bed was comfortable. At night the heating in the sleeping area was a bit too high, even after I lowered the temperature to the room’s lowest setting. We were locked out in the corridor and couldn’t get into our room for ten minutes, which is why I wouldn’t give the Edinburgh Grand five stars. Apart from that, we like this hotel enormously. A pleasant place to stay in a wintry wonder of magnificent Edinburgh. We’ll return if Robert Burns whispers.

Among Luxury Collection properties in the UK, this hotel showed an impressively high level of service and commitment to its members. I’d booked a loft room and was generously upgraded to a city-view suite, with a thoughtfully prepared welcome snack. Marriott Bonvoy members also get breakfast as part of the welcome amenity, which added to the stay. The staff were outstanding and attentive, taking time to explain the room in detail. The architecture and interior design lived up to the Luxury Collection brand’s standards, and the suite was exceptionally well equipped. A truly excellent stay that reflected quality and care.
