We chose the Scotsman Hotel for our anniversary, and the team went out of their way to make it feel special. Greg deserves a particular thank you for being so kind and attentive. Everyone was friendly and helpful throughout. The building has a distinctive historic character that's been carefully kept, and its past as the home of The Scotsman newspaper gives it extra charm. It's right in the city centre, an easy walk from the Royal Mile, Princes Street and many other attractions. From start to finish, it was just the experience we hoped for. We'd happily recommend the hotel and hope to return.

The rooms were bright, welcoming, spacious and well equipped, with a huge, very comfortable bed. The grand café is beautiful for dinner or brunch, and I'd highly recommend it. Everything was so clean, the location was perfect, and the staff were all friendly and happy to help with anything. I came for a lovely birthday weekend, and the card and chocolates left in the room were such a thoughtful touch. I'll definitely be back.

We stayed in a Feature Room and added the romantic package. There were flower petals, towel swans, chocolates and champagne, with Dark Academia ambience playing on the TV. It could make even bedrock feel detached from reality. Huge thanks to Ayat, Marta and everyone else on staff for making us welcome and handling all our requests. The Scotsman is a beautiful place in a beautiful part of the world. Its architecture and history feel deeply immersive, and it seems ideal for couples wanting a romantic visit. Even before heading out, the art deco cinema and cafe with live music gave us plenty to do.

We could walk to everything we wanted to see from this perfectly placed hotel. The restaurant downstairs was excellent, and we ate there a couple of times. Our room was quiet and clean, with all those thoughtful touches, and the place had a real mix of luxury and convenience. The desk staff were wonderful. They remembered my name and room number whenever I needed something, even when I couldn't remember my own room number.

Being upgraded to the Penthouse Suite made our milestone birthday even more memorable. The team went out of their way to make the occasion feel special, and the stay became one of the highlights of our month-long trip around Europe. The Scotsman Hotel is right in the heart of Edinburgh, an easy walk from the Royal Mile, Princes Street, Edinburgh Castle and lots of popular sights. The building has beautiful character and a rich history that's been thoughtfully preserved. Its past as the home of The Scotsman newspaper adds to the distinctive feel. Warm hospitality, elegant surroundings and a great location made this a memorable visit.
