I was in Queensferry for a quick Edinburgh break and spotted The Stag on booking.com, so I gave it a try. The staff were so friendly and welcoming, the bed was very comfortable, and the food and drinks were well priced. I think I was the only guest that night, so I had the shared bathroom to myself, though sharing wouldn’t have bothered me. The views of the famous bridge are great. For breakfast, the bakery next door is excellent too.

We came back the next night because we enjoyed our first visit so much. We’re a family of four staying nearby and initially stopped in for drinks, then decided to eat. The welcome was warm, the food was tasty and good value, especially the wings, and the view from the back was brilliant. We stayed for more drinks as well. Thanks to the staff.

We started our wedding day pub crawl here, and ended up spending most of the night because it was such a good place. Everyone was welcoming, the prices were decent, and the atmosphere and staff were great.
