The spa was a real treat, with a lovely pool, steam room, sauna, and jacuzzi. The jacuzzi did pause regularly for cleaning cycles, which I understand and appreciate, though it was a little frustrating while relaxing. Our room was spotless, modern, and very comfortable. The restaurant food arrived incredibly fast, hot, fresh, and really tasty. I rarely have breakfast away from home, but it was so good that I had a full cooked breakfast both mornings. The bar had a good atmosphere, several TVs, and welcoming bartenders. Service stood out from the start: I'd made a booking mistake, and the man I spoke to by phone sorted it out quickly and professionally, with no hassle. At check-in, a friendly dark-haired woman whose name I unfortunately can't remember made us feel welcome and was easy to chat with. Two days later at checkout, she remembered our conversation about how I'd basically come to Scotland to be a tourist. Those little touches made the stay feel personal. A couple of small things were awkward: streaming to the TV seemed easier with a Samsung device; we both use Apple, and some options looked like they needed payment. The TV's position also made an HDMI connection difficult. There was no toilet brush, which I know hotels sometimes remove, though I like to leave things tidy for housekeeping. Nothing would stop us from returning. We'd booked for 27-29 March 2026, and this very late review felt deserved after looking back on the trip. Fantastic staff, food, and spa, with a genuinely welcoming atmosphere. We'd happily stay again and recommend it.

I've stayed here twice in the past two months, and I'd call it good enough. The rooms were spotless and cosy, and everyone I dealt with was super friendly and helpful. There were a few little room and food niggles that didn't feel quite in keeping with a four-star hotel: a badly marked pillowcase that should have been thrown out instead of used, and room service food that wasn't quite what I'd ordered. Small things like that. With those issues, I do wonder if it's a bit pricey.

We felt so looked after over the food, drinks, and all the things I was picky about. They made me feel special and helped me stay relaxed as a bride. The whole wedding day was incredible and ran smoothly from start to finish, all thanks to the staff. Megan was an amazing coordinator and exactly who we could have hoped for. Emily was pulled in at the last minute and did an incredible job helping with everything. Victoria and Hermoine took over in the evening and handled the busy crowd so well, keeping things on track as a fantastic team. Thank you so much. It was the best experience we could have asked for. The room was clean, though the drains in room 204 really need attention. The smell was the first thing we noticed when we walked in. Breakfast was okay, but some items could've been warmer. In the evening, the restaurant food was good and the staff were very friendly. We had a really good visit and will stay here again next time we're in Edinburgh.
