We found the location convenient: about a 15-minute walk to Edinburgh's Old Town, and roughly seven minutes on foot to the airport bus stop. The transfer to the airport takes around 30 minutes, and a return ticket costs £8.50, which is reasonable. The room was clean, quiet, functional, and spacious enough for a short city break, with a modern bathroom and a nice rain shower. The service was welcoming and attentive. Some drawbacks: the rooms feel smaller than they look on the hotel's website, probably because of wide-angle photos. We also heard a slight hum, and the windows on the seventh floor are smaller than those on other floors. We had a good stay at the voco Edinburgh – Haymarket. At around £200 a night, we'd consider coming back, but probably not at a higher price. Tip: The Palmerston is about five minutes away and does a great self-service breakfast with pastries and bread from its own bakery, plus excellent coffee.

Everything was lovely during my recent trip. The service was fabulous from the moment I walked in until checkout, and people were quick to help with even small requests. My room was clean and comfortable, with a great skyline view. The sunrises and sunsets were a highlight. Thanks, Voco, for an amazing stay!

The beds were enormous and ridiculously comfortable, and the duvet was huge too lol. We also loved the food in the bar, and room service was amazing. Everyone was so kind and accommodating, and both check-in and check-out took seconds. Thanks so much for looking after us, you’re all doing a brilliant job. Greetings from Cardiff, and we’ll make sure to come back if we visit again.

The location worked well for getting around on public transport, and the staff were friendly and accommodating. I liked the decor too, with its dark, modern, moody feel that suits an overcast Scottish day. A solid stay.

We had a really comfortable stay, especially thanks to the super comfortable bed. The location was just right for me, close to everything but not right in the centre. The room had everything we needed except a coffee machine. We didn't eat at the hotel, so I can't comment on the food.
