YOTEL Edinburgh

My boyfriend and I had a lovely three-night stay and adored the room. It was extra cute and cosy, just right for a couple, with a bed that could move up and down like a couch-bed. The location was good too, with everywhere we wanted to go within a 20-minute walk. There was a nice TV we could connect our phones to for YouTube, and the lights could change colours. I liked the shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, and moisturiser in large pump containers. The hairdryer was good, though we could only get it working in the outlet by the beds, not the one near the mirror. One thing I didn't love was having to switch on almost all the bright room lights to use the bathroom. Still, it was a perfect stay, and I'd recommend it 100%.

The lighting controls could use some adjustment, and the bathroom would be better separated from the room by a door rather than a curtain. The curtain's smell and cleanliness weren't pleasant. The hotel itself is modern, in an excellent location, and the rooms are comfortable with what you need for a pleasant stay. I had a very good time and would definitely consider staying again.

We weren't in the room all day, so its fair size was fine for us. The beds were especially comfortable, with long, fluffy pillows. The Yotel felt clean and welcoming, and had a lively feel with all the guests around. It's in a spot that's neither too busy nor too quiet, and breakfast was a great way to start each day. I'd stay again!

The main thing that put me off returning was the smoking area right by the hotel's main entrance. We had to pass through a cloud of smoke whenever we came or went, which was unpleasant, especially for non-smokers. The staff were a real highlight, always cheerful, welcoming, and helpful. My room was comfortable, with a good-sized bed and a nice shower, and everything seemed clean and well maintained. Breakfast was disappointing. I understand that isn't the staff's fault, but for £16 per person I expected more choice and better quality. The options were limited and the food was bland. We added breakfast on our last day to save time before checkout, though it might be cheaper to book ahead. The stay was pleasant overall, but unless the smoking area moves, I don't think I'd choose YOTEL Edinburgh again.
