The buildings had no hot water or heating, the wifi was poor, and the air ventilation made me ill. I found the staff extremely unhelpful. They’d offer a vague “solution,” then ignore my complaints and say I was the only resident with these problems, so they wouldn’t properly fix them, even though several reviews and complaints mention the same issues. The manager also uses ChatGPT to write emails responding to residents’ complaints. That says a lot. Very unprofessional.

We haven’t moved in yet, but the admin team in Egham have been amazing. Sharon, Lucy and the rest of the team have made everything easy, and nothing has felt like too much trouble. If living at the Pad is even half as good as dealing with them has been, I’m sure my son will have his best year yet and be very happy there.

Being right next to RHUL makes this a really nice place to stay if you’re going there. The refurbishment has made it look great, and the new spaces were worth the disruption. At the start of the year I was worried about construction during exams, but it was handled well. Yara explained what would happen more than once and reassured me about my belongings. She was always there to help, and Min quickly sorted anything that went wrong in my room. The team are lovely, and I’m sure the newer people I haven’t met yet are just as nice. There were occasional hot water and wifi problems, and the security staff weren’t always helpful. Still, it’s a lovely place to live. I’m sad I won’t be here to enjoy the new spaces.

I’ve had a great time at the pad, so I’m not sure why some of the other reviews are so negative. The staff are lovely, and Min from maintenance fixes things quickly after I report them. Reception are always keen to help too. The recent refurb has made the rooms and kitchens much better. It’s right by the uni, and the town is about a ten minute walk away.
