Robyn in the restaurant went out of her way to help with our dietary needs, and Itane sorted out our TV when we couldn’t get it working. The staff were so helpful and clearly wanted everything to be right. Our room had stylish decor and a super comfortable bed. We’ll definitely come back!

Just a five minute walk from Eagham station, this little pub is a real gem tucked away from the usual routes. The food was beautifully thought out and cooked perfectly, and there’s a varied wine list too. The staff were as warm as you could hope for. I love English pubs, and this is my favourite so far. It’ll be very hard to top.

We used to come in for a beer or a snack, and the extra walk was worth it for the friendly staff and calm atmosphere. Since the change of ownership, though, we haven’t been impressed. They seem unable to pour a decent pint of their own Brakspear ale. On our last visit we waited at the bar and the staff didn’t acknowledge us at all. I can’t comment on the accommodation, which I understand is good, and the restaurant was conspicuously empty. Given how things have gone so far, we’re unlikely to return soon. It would be a real shame for Egham if the place closed, but this doesn’t look promising.

We came for dinner as a family and found a warm, lively pub with lovely styling that made us feel relaxed straight away. The menu deserves real credit. Two of us are vegetarian, and it was a great surprise to see so many hearty, creative choices instead of the usual dull mushroom risotto. There were lots of starters and four mains to pick from. We ordered the tofu Buddha bowl and paneer curry, and both were outstanding. We’ll be back!

The Kings Arms worked brilliantly for our group of 19, with enough room to sit, chat and move around, and it was easy for our guests to reach. We were celebrating my son’s surprise 30th birthday, and it turned into a memorable afternoon. Etian, our hostess, was friendly, organised and attentive throughout. She kept things running smoothly without getting in the way, and made sure everyone felt looked after. Nothing seemed like too much trouble. The team and the welcoming atmosphere made the occasion feel special, and the price was excellent value for what we received. I’d gladly recommend The Kings Arms for a celebration.
