For the price, I have no complaints. Both beds were comfortable, the rooms were as clean as they could be, and our hosts were polite and showed us where to go. We had booked one single and one double: the single had plenty of space to move around and get changed, while the double felt rather cozy for two people. I would've swapped which room had which bed, but it was fine. It's about a 20 minute walk from Overpool station, and I'd recommend it if you need a budget stay in Ellesmere Port.

I booked through Booking, then on the day I was due to arrive, the lady called to say this was a guest house and only quiet guests could stay. I said we were quiet, but then she started asking what UK address was registered on my Booking account. I'm an international student who came to the UK for my Bachelor's and Master's, and I wasn't sure which address was listed. She said she was worried about accepting me unless I could verify a UK address, and that I had to show ID with a UK address when I arrived. I told her I was travelling and didn't have a UK address, and that this requirement wasn't stated on the listing. She said big hotel chains don't ask, but guest houses do. I called Booking.com, and they confirmed this wasn't the first complaint about the host. They also said the listing didn't state that guests needed ID showing a UK address. In short, if you only want certain guests, state the conditions on Booking and stop worrying about it.

Travelled solo and got the room shown in the pictures, a double with an ensuite. I was warmly welcomed. The street-facing room had ordinary noise levels. There's a Shell garage, takeaways and restaurants within walking distance, and Wagamama and others about 12 miles away by car.

The service was fantastic, and I felt well looked after. My room was spotless and tidy, and I'd happily recommend the place.
