DeSalis Hotel London Stansted

The staff were all nice, but it wasn't clear what was happening at reception, and it definitely isn't open 24/7. The shuttle also stops at 6pm. Check the local number 7 bus times before paying for taxis, and look at Uber too. Getting to and from the airport will add £30, and there are closer places for that price. The coffee is only instant sachets. Also, the shower curtains need a proper clean, and the tea spoon in the room was really sticky.

For what we paid, it was very good, and I'd consider staying again, though I wouldn't give it five stars. The rooms were basic but did the job, and the location is ideal for Stansted airport. There was plenty of parking, but the area at the back didn't feel especially secure. Check-in felt strange, though I can't quite say why. Staff weren't in uniform, so it was hard to tell who was a guest, an employee, or just someone else. Quite an odd hotel.

It's clean and pretty on the outside, but inside it felt dated, grubby, and like a seedy motel. I can't see how anyone who's actually paid to stay here could give it more than two stars. They also want £15 each way for the trip to and from this Bates Motel. I'd pay extra and stay nearer the airport.

The service was okay, but the rooms need a more thorough clean. There was dust in the closets, the carpet hadn't been vacuumed properly, and the bathroom tiles hadn't been washed. The furniture is old, but it could still be clean.
