Dunstanburgh Castle Hotel

We had a relaxed Saturday lunch in the dog-friendly lounge, and the food was delicious. The staff were so warm and helpful, even with our slightly muddy dogs. It was a lovely experience and good value too.

The staff were all lovely, and the full English breakfast was very good before we headed out for another beach walk. We checked in at 3, then went for a bracing walk with Dunstanburgh Castle in the distance. After a pint of Timothy Taylors in the bar, we asked for dinner recommendations and both chose the excellent venison cobbler with greens. We skipped chips to save room for dessert. I don't usually have dessert, but my rhubarb frangipane with rhubarb and custard ice cream was excellent, and my wife's was just as impressive. A really lovely overnight stay, 10 out of 10.

The restaurant was cosy and warm, with beautiful decor, and the dog-friendly lounges were lovely too, with log burners and cosy armchairs. We had a superb Sunday lunch at Dunstanburgh Castle Hotel on 26.10.25. The food was outstanding and cooked perfectly, and the staff were brilliant, especially Debbie, who was so friendly and welcoming. It's the best Sunday lunch we've had in ages, and we're already planning another visit. Thank you, Deb & Gav Iceton.

We ate here every evening during our stay in Embleton, though we weren't staying at the hotel. The menu had plenty of variety, the food was great, and the staff were friendly and helpful. We'd definitely stay here if we came back to Northumberland.
