The Furze Bush Inn

The pub and setting were lovely, and we sat outside for lunch. The only vegan option was a starter, with no vegan mains on the menu. When I asked, the waiter offered to serve the starter with a salad. It tasted nice, but the portion was less than half the size of everyone else’s main, while I was charged for a full main. I left hungry and feeling ripped off.

The bar has a wide choice, and the food and rooms have both been great on the couple of times I’ve stayed. It’s tucked away, but we found it because we wanted somewhere central to meet up with old friends dotted around the country.

We stopped here on the drive from Manchester to the ferry in Portsmouth. The food was absolutely amazing, and it’s a really lovely place with such friendly people. They have rooms too, so that could be an option for our next trip. We’ll definitely come back.

The staff were great, and even with the car park packed, our food arrived really quickly. The pub itself is B E A Utiful! I had a solid ploughman’s, though they were a little stingy with the cheese, and some of the best pub chips I’ve had in a long while.
