Whitworth Locke

I raised everything at checkout, and the man at reception seemed genuinely sorry and apologised. I appreciated that, but the stay still fell far below what I expected, especially for the price, and I wouldn’t return to Whitworth Locke. I was there for two nights in November, and housekeeping never came: we got no fresh towels, toilet paper replacement or anything else. The towels we were given had to last the whole stay, and I had to use them to mop up because the shower flooded every time. The room hadn’t been cleaned properly before arrival either, with dust throughout and visibly dirty kitchen utensils. It was cold, dimly lit and extremely noisy from the thin walls and constant street sounds. The TV didn’t work when we arrived. Maintenance spent about an hour trying to fix it while we were getting ready, then kept at it after we’d left. The Wi-Fi didn’t work at all during our stay, which was incredibly frustrating.

The building, location and staff were all great, and the beautiful lobby and wonderful team are a big reason we’d consider coming back. We stayed for a full week in November, but the area outside was noisy, with rowdy partygoers late at night. Inside, the flat was far too dark. The bath was large and modern, but there was no screen separating the shower from the rest of the bathroom, so turning it on flooded the room.

We booked through AirBnB, and the apartment was lovely, clean and in a great spot in this amazing hotel. The bed was super comfy, the shower and bath worked well together, and there was a kitchen. Staff were very friendly when I arrived early for an appointment. They held my bags and let me check in after I got back. I’d recommend staying here.

The suite was incredible and absolutely worth every penny. They’d left a “Happy Birthday” card and a neon sign over the bed, such a lovely touch. The lobby smelled gorgeous, and the staff were so kind. The whole place felt warm and friendly, right in a great central location. Thank you, everyone!
