The menu keeps changing with the seasons, and the ingredients are fresh and local. We’ve been back several times because the food is so good, and the service has been excellent every visit. Saracens Head is a real hidden gem, and we can’t recommend it enough.

The pub is tucked along the backroads, with lovely views, and we were made to feel like old friends from the moment we arrived. That warm service continued throughout the weekend, 20-21st September. Breakfast was especially good, and all the food was delicious, locally sourced, and fairly priced for such a high standard. We had a wonderful stay and would happily recommend it.

Breakfast had plenty to choose from and was just as good as dinner, which was excellent and made with local produce. Our room was spacious, with a good shower in the ensuite, and there was a secure place to keep our bikes. It’s a lovely pub with rooms, and we’d definitely come back.

I hadn’t booked, but the pub in the village recommended it and I was welcomed straight away. My room had a comfortable bed and a lovely bathroom. After a great evening meal and beautiful breakfast, I felt set for the 118 miles I still had to ride on the Rebellion way. I’d definitely recommend it :)

The setting was beautiful, and the service was friendly. I had lobster followed by strawberry pavlova, and both were delicious. My only small quibble is that there wasn’t a traditional Sunday roast option for people like me who don’t eat meat. My friend really enjoyed the pork roast and chocolate fondant with raspberry sorbet, and we both had a great Sunday lunch.
